What AI sees in HireFlow (and what it never does)

Before any AI model sees a resume, an application answer or an assessment answer, HireFlow removes email addresses, phone numbers, postal addresses, dates of birth and salary figures, along with the candidate’s name where it appears. The code that talks to AI providers refuses input that hasn’t been through that step.

Writing tasks — drafting assessment questions, summarising a debrief — run on Claude Haiku, with DeepSeek as a fallback. Generating a 20-question assessment costs about 2.5 cents on Haiku and under a cent on DeepSeek. Small judgements, like scoring an answer against a rubric, run on the same models, or on TypeSafe Jev for companies that opt in.

Each company can cap its monthly AI spend, switch providers per task, or bring its own key. When the budget runs out, everything pauses except grading suggestions.

And whatever AI produces is labelled as AI and waits for a person. That part is not configurable.
